THE ECONOMICAL OPTION FOR CHEQUER PLATE
Khansgrate Deck partially weighs the equal strength of checkered plate. In conditions where the stiffness is equal to checkered plate, it is one-third the weight. This makes the handling of tonnage, transport and erection less than with the equivalent checkered plate. Dead loads on structures also become less, thus producing overall cost and weight savings.

KHANSGRATE DECK PERFORMANCE
The table (p.26) shows Khansgrate Deck structural performance on safe load and deflection. From the table it can be seen that Khansgrate Deck is 2½ times as strong and six times stiffer than checkered plate but weighs 33% less.

KHANSGRATE FIXING METHODS |

Saddle Clip Type A
This method of fastening consists of saddle clip and 8mm diameter sheeting bolt and nut. |

Boss Type Clip
This secure method of fixing provides for a tap welded to the supporting steelwork and a 16mm diameter boss bolt. |
FINISHES
Standard panels are normally protected with a priming coat of aluminum paint but other finishes are available including black bitumen coating and zinc spray. In certain circumstances Khansgrate Deck can also be galvanized but consultation should firstly be sought from our Engineering Department.
